Really good Ecuadorian restaurant in queens . Close to 7 train stop. Great servers and staff. Ceviche awesome. Almost reminds me of being in Peru. Not too limonee hearty amounts of fish but not fishy. Plantain chips with were good. Free appetizer of salty gigant fried corn kernels and fresh green hot sauce. Mixed veggies were great. The sango de camarones was thick flavorful plenty of shrimp and went well w rice avocado and onions . Local Ecuador beer club was a nice Pilsner to wash it all down

Love the food here! Try to soursop smoothie with milk soooooo tasty! One of the few places you find this drink. I've been here several times and it's always packed, but never had to wait long. Service is relaxed and leisurely. Ambiance is local and cosy. The food is great, loved the fried snapper, the fried calamari, the pernil was also delicious (very moist and tender)

Hubby and I ended up at the place after his friend mentioned it. His friend lives in Bayside but knows about this restaurant. We live in the neighborhood and don't know it. Boo (to us). We came here for lunch. They offer lunch specials. We ordered from the lunch specials. We both had the seafood soup, which was so tasty! Then I had the grilled steak with rice and beans and salad. Hubby had chicken fried rice with salad. I liked my dish, but I prefer Hubby's fried rice. The grilled steak was good but less tender and tastes. My rice and beans were good, and so was the pickled salad. We had Jamie as our waitress, and Angelo helped with our table too. We spoke with Pam, who knows the restaurant from inside and outside. Everybody was very good at what they did and worked hard. I wasn't sure whether I had tried Ecuadorian food before, but this restaurant's food was surprisingly good! I'll come back to try the chicken dish. Nice!

Enjoyed a great dinner. Place is busy & not very big. They start you w/addicting corn nuts. We had the salchipapas, fries were crisp & not greasy, nice amount of tasty hotdogs. The green sauce is perfect for dunking. The seafood soup is a large bowl of all kinds of shellfish, tasty. Attempted the combo plate, which is a gigantic platter of rice, beans, thin charred steak, avocado, plantain, crispy chicharrone & 2 fried runny eggs. Even though we were stuffed, had to try the creamy smooth flan, so good & not too sweet. All delicious. Service super friendly. Can't wait to go back.

Ecuadorian food needs more love. Come here to get some love. Big time flavor in the pernil, those potato cake things are friggin awesome, the Ecuadorian ceviche is truly awesome. Less limey than other ceviche but almost more buttery? Idk. OH there's an awesome cocktail that's green, refreshing, and perfectly tart that I can't remember. If you ask for recommendations they'll prob give it to ya. Trust me on this

Every time I come to Rincon Melania I always leave pretty happy and so so full. I try to adjust my ordering, but no matter what I always feel like I am over ordering because I tend to forget just how large their portions are. Not a complaint, just a reminder to pace myself in the future haha. Here's a breakdown of dishes I have tried: Yapingachos - Pan-fried potato cakes - these are actually very light and I like they come topped with marinated onions and tomato - its basically a salad.. haha Bolon Mixto - I saw a couple order this last time and they praised it as so delicious. I found it a bit heavy - it is a large fried ball of mashed plantains. Pulpo a la Parilla - Grilled Octopus with citrus red onions - They do grilled octopus so perfectly here. Very tender with great flavor. Picada - Appetizer Sampler - I got this on my 1st time here, but found it to be too much opting to usually to get the cerviche as a sharable plate. A great sampling of different meats. Mariscos Mixto - Mixed Seafood Cocktail - Shrimp, fish and octopus. I would say this is a must get. I always hear raves from cerviche fans. The quality and flavor is exquisite. Love the fried tostones with this! Pernil - Slow-roasted pork shoulder marinated with Latin spices, served with white corn grains (Mote) topped with crispy pork skin and our signature yapingacho. I sampled this at Taste of Sunnyside it is fantastic. Guatita - Beef tripe stew cooked slowly in peanut sauce, served with yellow rice, sliced avocado and sweet plantain. I love tripe and this dish. Filipinos (or fans of Filipino food) will compare this to Kare Kare. I love finding the common ground between cultures. Seco de Chivo - Goat stew slowly cooked in home-made sofrito and beer, served with yellow rice, sliced avocado and sweet plantain. This dish I get most often - I love goat and that slightly gamy flavor. It melts in your mouth. Some pieces tend to be fatty though.. The make many types of shakes here with milk or water - when I get these its another thing that puts me over the edge of fullness. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Our waitress on my most recent outing literally described each of the Traditional Ecuadorian dishes for our group despite the place being busy. I appreciate the waitstaff speaks to me in Spanish, but easily understand when I respond in English. The hours are strange to me they close just before 8pm during the week, but open until 10pm Friday and Saturday. They were hoping all afternoon on a recent Sunday I was here. They probably want to give you time to digest their large dishes before going to sleep!

Delicious Ecuadorian food! My husband is half Ecuadorian and his mom is from Ecuador, so we came here for a Sunday evening dinner. The kitchen closes at 745pm, so we had to put in our entire order before then. Wish they stayed open later on Sundays! We got: -Guatita (cow stomach in peanut butter) -Seco de Chico (goat stew) -mixed ceviche -Llapingachos (cheesy mashed potato Patties) -side order of mote Everything was absolutely delicious. The ceviche was so fresh and came with chiflez (plaintain chips that were still piping hot because they were just fried!). The goat stew had nice pieces of goat with bones. It came with rice, avocado, and a delicious sweet plaintain. I tried the guatita and it was tasty, but I am not personally the biggest fan. The inside decor is super cute, and they have a bar too for drinks. Definitely would come back again!

Had dinner at the restaurant - much better than our take-out meal from there. Casual place. Got crowded so they took names and we waited outside, some seats available. Limited parking in lot, so street parking on Queens Blvd. Waitstaff was friendly and efficient. Food was presented nicely and shareable. Ceviche was fresh, served with tostones. Guatita was still very good, served with maduros, avocado and yellow rice. Chaulafan was much better bec no burnt flavor, also with maduros and avoc. Figs with cheese dessert was light, mild-tasting cheese with syrup.
